Sr. Project Officer/Asst Manager

Subject Social Sciences, Anthropology, History or Biological Sciences or any other fields with
background on society, culture, ecology, education and sustainable development.
Role and Responsibilities
- The person will be responsible for planning, organizing and executing all project related
- activities in coordination with the field team and project coordinator.
- Will be responsible for effectively monitor the project activities and timely achievement of
- the deliverables and targets.
- Will be responsible to liaise and coordinate with various stakeholders to achieve project
- goals.
- Will be responsible for the timely collection of the field data, maintain up-to-date database
- and run preliminary analysis with support from the coordinator.
- Will be responsible for preparing field reports in coordination with the field team to
- generate periodical reports for the project management.
- Will be responsible for preparing required documents in local languages.
Key attributes required for the position
- The person should be native to the State of Mizoram with fluency in Mizo and English.
- Knowledge of other vernacular languages will be an added advantage.
- Have at least 2-3 years of experience in community engagement for
- development / sustainability / outreach or community-based conservation.
- Have fair understanding of the local geographical and socio-cultural scenario of Mizoram.
- Should have fair ideas and/or experiences of working with multi-stakeholders
- government, non-profit, student group, community, village institution, etc.
- Being able to translate from English documents to local languages will be an advantage but
- not mandatory.
- Must be computer savvy and have sound knowledge of using MS office, Google Drive and
- other analytical tools and have hands-on experience of managing databases using MS
- Excel.
- Must be hardworking and able to work in difficult terrain and interior rural areas with very
- basic amenities.
Location Areas around Dampa Tiger Reserve and Thorangtlang Wildlife Sanctuary in Mamit
District.
Duration of project 6 months with the possibility of extension for an additional three years.
Honorarium Commensurate to qualification and experiences.
